This position has responsibility for supporting the organisation's research programs and projects relevant to tree breeding, with a view to improving wood fibre quality and commercial performance.
Selection Criteria:
Suitable tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or equivalent experience.
Highly developed level of technical knowledge and experience, including experience in the use of relevant equipment and computer software.
Demonstrated understanding of best practice methodologies and current research relevant to the field.
Proven organisation, administration and problem-solving skills.

Applicants should have:
Preferably a background in harvesting & transport of Radiata Pine logs
Preferably knowledge and experience in purchasing & logistics management of logs

A tertiary qualification in forestry
Knowledge or interest in working with port and ship operations associated with a substantial export log enterprise (training will be provided)
Tasks will include:
Manage transport services, port, shipping & other tasks relevant to the movement and shipping of logs.
Assisting log operations manager with log purchasing, distribution and wood flow
Operational management of marshalling, fumigation & stevedores;
Quality Control and stock management
